Bishop Jack Batson

Jack Batson was born in Charlotte, (Dickson County) TN on June 12, 1951 to Arthur Clarence and Lydia Mae Batson, the last of ten children.    He was raised in a family that loved and served God and trusting Jesus was their “way of life”.  He accepted his “call” to the ministry at the age of nineteen years old while attending Apostolic Faith Tabernacle in Clarksville, TN under the leadership of his Pastor, Rev. R. C. Mays.

He served in the U.S. Army from May, 1971 until May, 1973.  On November 12, 1971 Jack Batson married Charolyn Mays.  On November 17, 1972 their first child, Nathan, was born.  On May 2, 1975, David was born.  From 1971 until November, 1977, he served as Youth Director/Teacher, musician and assistant to his Pastor in Clarksville, TN.

In November, 1977 he accepted his first pastorate at Pine Grove Pentecostal Church, Summit, MS.  In November, 1979, he accepted the pastorate of Calvary Tabernacle in Nashville, TN where he pastored for 33 ½ years.  He has served as TN District Superintendent for the Assemblies of the Lord Jesus Christ for 20 years.

In 1985, in addition to pastoring Calvary Tabernacle, Rev. Batson started a Home Missions Church in Ashland City, TN.

In 1999, he purchased land, built a new church building and fellowship hall and merged the two churches to a new location in the Nashville area.  The new congregation changed the name from Calvary Tabernacle to New Life Apostolic Church.  He has distinguished himself as a church planter and builder.

He now serves as Bishop of the church he pastored for 33 ½ years.
